Studio Etiquette
We offer a tranquil and serene studio atmosphere – and ask that you help us maintain this environment by observing our studio etiquette.
Bookings
Bookings are required for all classes in the studio – download our MindBody app for iOS or Android to make booking your classes even easier.
You can also book for in-studio classes via our online timetable.
All of our in-person classes are 60 minutes in duration.
Online classes do not require bookings.
Before Class
If you’re new to yoga and Western Wellness, please arrive 20 minutes before your first class.
For your next class, please make sure you are 10 minutes early so that we can start all classes on time.
Come in to our waiting area, and check in with our team at reception upon arrival before every class.
Late entry is not permitted to any class – studio doors are locked 2 minutes prior to each class. Once doors are locked, for the enjoyment of all members, entry is not permitted.
In the Studio
Western Wellness Yoga is a mobile free zone. Please refrain from using your mobile phone at our studio.
We ask that you turn your phone off before entering our yoga rooms – even a phone on silent that vibrates can be distracting to others in the class.
Please stay for the entire class: leaving early is incredibly disruptive to the flow of the class, and can interfere with the enjoyment and safety of others.
When in the reception area, please keep your shoes on, but when entering a studio, we ask that shoes are removed – you can keep your socks on while you get set up in the studio.
For the comfort of everyone in your class, please avoid wearing strong perfume or cologne to the studio.
We do provide yoga mats and props at no cost for you to use during your class. You are welcome to bring your own mat and props with you if you prefer.
Please make sure you bring a small towel with you to every class - a hand towel is big enough, but can be bigger if you want - whatever you’re comfortable with.
We want you to be comfortable during class, so it is recommended that you wear loose-fitting clothing that won’t restrict your movement. Yoga is practiced barefoot, but you may want to keep your socks on while you warm up.
Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water and hand towel with you to each class – we do also have complimentary hand towels in the studio.
Personal Safety and Etiquette
Please attend our special Pregnancy Yoga classes if you are pregnant. This is for your (and your bub’s) safety.
If you become pregnant during your membership, please notify your teacher immediately.
Children must be aged 14 years and over to attend classes at the Western Wellness Yoga studio. Children below the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian in attendance at the studio and in the class at all times. Members below the age of 18 years must have a parent or guardian act as a contract guarantor to hold a membership.
All members, regardless of age, are expected to display adult maturity during classes and in the studio, and treat the Western Wellness team and other members with courtesy and respect.
Health Disclaimer
Yoga is exercise: we stretch, flex and keep our bodies health through dynamic movement, breathing and meditation. Yoga is relaxing, but it can also be strenuous. You don't need to be fit or flexible to start yoga but you must be in good health. If you have any injuries, medical conditions or restricted movement, please contact us before attending class to discuss if our style of yoga is suitable for you.
Before starting a new exercise program, it is recommended that you discuss your current health and fitness situation with your doctor. While our live-streamed and online classes include safety instructions and options for every fitness level, you do need to be aware of your own health and fitness during each session.
If you have any day-to-day movement restrictions or if you are currently receiving treatment for any injury or medical condition, it's best to contact us to discuss your suitability in our classes. Please advise your teacher if your condition changes.
If you have any further queries about your experience at Western Wellness Yoga, please contact us.
